The mission of the Mining environmental liabilities expert group of ASGMI<\/a> is to comply Santa Cruz agreements<\/a> and create a common methodology to characterize the potential risk of mining environmental liabilities. Members of this group have been reviewed the “Manual para el inventario de minas abandonadas y paralizadas” developped before in ASGMI and they have been working to get the two following objectives:<\/p>\n

  1. Develop a technical guide to evaluate the risk and clasify the mining environmental liabilites in Iberoam\u00e9rica. <\/li>\n
  2. Develop a procedure to determine the potential reutilization of mining environmental liabilities. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    As a result of the work made during last year, the document about knowledge and perceptions of mining environmental liabilities in countries members of ASGMI has created and it can be downloaded in following link: <\/p>\n
