PUBLICATION OF THE “MANUAL OF GEOCHEMICAL METHODOLOGIES OF IBERO-AMERICAN COUNTRIES. Geochemical Information for Society.”
The Group of Experts in Geochemistry of ASGMI (GEGEOQ) was reactivated in 2019 to comply with the agreements reached at the XXIV General Assembly of ASGMI held in Salta, Argentina, in August 2018.
The group is coordinated by LNEG (Portugal), with the support of SEGEMAR (Argentina), SGC (Colombia), and IGME-CSIC (Spain) as deputy coordinators.
Initially, the mission of GEGEOQ was to develop a methodological guide for collecting geochemical samples to support all ASGMI members, especially those with little experience in the field.
Recently, GEGEOQ has published its “MANUAL OF GEOCHEMICAL METHODOLOGIES OF IBERO-AMERICAN COUNTRIES. Geochemical Information for Society” in a limited paper edition and also available for free download in PDF format from our website:
After the Manual’s publication, GEGEOQ continues its activities with new projects, such as the Geochemical Atlas of South America and Monographs on groups of elements related to critical raw materials.
Additionally, GEGEOQ collaborates with Eurogeosurveys and the IUGS on the Global Geochemical Baselines project.
